SHARON HILL — Josh Rogers had a memorable day on the mats for the St. Pius X wrestling team.

The senior upper-weight made a clean sweep of his five bouts — reaching the 50-win total for his scholastic career — to highlight the Winged Lions' showing at the Academy Park Duals Saturday. The Lions had a 2-3 record on the day, topping Bishop Shanahan (58-18) and Allentown Central Catholic (51-27) but falling to Academy Park (49-21), Ridley (51-30) and Notre Dame (44-36).

Other big winners for Pius were Conor Meyers (152) and Patrick Stern (285), both going 4-1 in their respective brackets. A.J. Ebersole, John Anuszewski, Anthony Yerger and John Cherneskie added 3-2 outings.

Quakertown Tournament: Four Upper Perk grapplers went 3-0 in a round-robin tourney whose intended "duals" format was changed when several schools didn't show up.

Sweeps were recorded by Dylan Steffenino (103, 112), Wolfgang McStravick (112), Cody Ambrose (160) and Nick Hale (189), with McStravick pinning his way through the field. Kyle Fellman, seeing action at 103, went 1-0 on the day.
