UPPER PERK WRESTLING SAFETY GUIDELINES

As we welcome back wrestling to the Upper Perkiomen community our mission continues to be to provide not only a memorable and enjoyable experience, but one that provides a safe environment pursuant to local and state guidelines.

Below are guidelines for our 2021-2022 season:

  • We ask that each family maintain social distancing of 6 feet.  Any high-risk members of our community are asked to stay at home.
  • During practice time we ask that parents are not attending or staying to view. If possible, when picking up your child from practice please stay in your vehicle to reduce person to person contact.
  • No player, coach or family member who are feeling any type of illness, have a temperature of 100.4 degree or higher, or is experiencing symptoms as designated by the CDC should attend any Upper Perk Wrestling event.  We ask all caregivers to monitor their children prior to attending any Upper Perk Wrestling event.
  • No shared equipment including but not limited to: headgear, singlets, shoes, shirts, and especially water bottles or jugs or anything which could transfer respiratory droplets or saliva.
  • We require all observers to comply to the latest mask guidelines set in place by Governor Wolf.  Spectators should not enter the mat areas.
  • Each player must bring their own water bottle and mark clearly for identification with their name.
  • All equipment bags should be 6’ apart

These recommendations at no time replace any local or state health official guidelines and those set forth by the CDC (Center for Disease Control) and may be adjusted without notice based on new information or science provided to the general public.

If a player/parent or coach is positively diagnosed with COVID-19 or is exposed to someone else who is positively diagnosed with COVID 19, the family MUST immediately notify our organization youth co-chairman, Bryan Moyer at 267-884-4311. If a student-athlete or coach contracts the COVID-19 virus, the individual must quarantine as the CDC and PA State government requires. Any individual who was in close contact with the person diagnosed with COVID-19 will be notified and advised on whether the secondary individual must also quarantine by district health professionals. Following the quarantine, the individual must have also met the following criteria prior to returning to play: 1. At least three days (72 hours) have passed since the individual has recovered (resolution of fever without the use of fever-reducing medications) 2. The individual has improvement in respiratory symptoms (i.e. cough, shortness of breath) 3. At least 10 days have passed since the onset of symptoms 4. Written documentation of clearance from a healthcare provider (MD, DO, NP, PA).
