OPEN & NOVICE WRESTLING TOURNAMENT

DATE: Saturday, February 19, 2022

LOCATION: Upper Perkiomen High School: 2 Walt Road Pennsburg Pennsylvania 18073

TIME: Doors will open at 6:30 am. 
Split session start: NOVICE wrestlers must be checked-in by 7:15 am and will start wrestling at 8:00 am.
OPEN wrestlers arrive at 12:00, wrestling will start promptly at 12:30.

WEIGH-IN: NOVICE: No weigh-in! Honor system! Submit Actual Weight! Novice must check-in by 7:15 day of tournament
OPEN: Thursday, February 17 at 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at Upper Perkiomen High School
Friday, February 18 at 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at Upper Perkiomen High School (No weight changes)
Saturday, February 19 at 7:30 am to 9:00 am at Upper Perkiomen High School (No weight changes)

ENTRY FEE: Registration: $40 per individual wrestler (no refunds)
Team registration by 2/1/22: $34 per wrestler w/ 10 or more wrestlers registered on team form (no refunds)

REGISTRATION: ON-LINE PRE-REGISTRATION ONLY! NO MAIL-IN, CALL-IN, OR WALK-IN REGISTRATIONS!

Individual On-line registration will close on Saturday, February 12 or when full. We will sell out so don’t delay!

Team registrations must be handled directly through pywrestling.com online registration form. Please follow the instructions for the team pay option. 

RULES: Modified PIAA Rules & PIAA Certified Referees will be used. Headgear and singlets are mandatory.
Bout length: 1-1-1. Overtime: 1 minute sudden victory, 30 second ride-out.
Wrestlers must be of age in division they are competing on day of tournament. Wrestlers may enter more than one division, but no guaranteed rest time and you must pay separate entry fees. 
Challenges will be at the discretion of the tournament directors and must be done before wrestler completes his/her second match. Wrestlers should be within 1.5 pounds of weight class if challenged. Age challenges must have birth certificate present upon request by director and will be required by both parties involved in age challenge process. Participants with any skin disease must have a doctor note clearing participants to wrestle. All decisions final by tournament directors.
6 Mats will be used all day. Participants will wrestle on the same mat all day (no guarantee if more than one entry).

NOVICE First & Second year wrestlers only! Wrestlers who placed 1st thru 3rd in any open tournament, regardless of being
DETAILS: a first or second year wrestler, are not eligible for the novice division! This is strictly for novice caliber wrestlers!
First 200 paid wrestlers will be entered. Madison bracketing will be used to comprise 4, 5, & 6 Man Round Robin brackets. Wrestlers will be grouped by age, closest weight, and # years of experience.
Wrestlers must be within 2 pounds of the weight submitted on registration form if challenged.
NOVICE DIVISIONS: Pee Wee (6 & Under), Bantam (8 & Under), Midget (10 & Under)
NOVICE AWARDS: Our famous 4inch Olympic Style Medals will be awarded to each place finisher in each class in each division. Every NOVICE wrestler will receive a medal!

OPEN First 300 paid wrestlers will be entered. Wrestlers will be seeded by experience and 2021-2022 winning percentage.
DETAILS: Double elimination tournament for bracketed weight classes. We reserve the right to combine weight classes with 3 or less wrestlers and/or round robin weight classes with 5 or less wrestlers.
OPEN DIVISIONS & WEIGHT CLASSES:
Bantam (8 & Under): 46, 50, 55, 60, 66, 74, 82, 90, HWT (105 MAX)
Midget (10 & Under): 56, 60, 64, 70, 76, 84, 92, 102, HWT (120 MAX)
Junior (12 & Under): 66, 72, 78, 84, 92, 100, 110, 122, HWT (145 MAX)
Junior High (7th thru 9th Grade): No High School Experience Allowed!
82, 90, 98, 106, 115, 124, 134, 143, 152, HWT (180 MAX)

OPEN AWARDS: will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, 3rd place finishers in each weight class in each division.

ADMISSION: Coaches/All other attendees $5.00 (No charge to wrestlers and students 5 & Under)

CONCESSIONS: Food will be served all day starting at 7:00 am. T-Shirts and Wrestling Gear will be available for purchase.

WAIVER: Wrestlers are entered at their own risk. Wrestlers, Wrestler’s Parent/Guardian/ Coach agree to not hold liable the
UPHS and/or their Staff, UPTC, Tournament Officials, Referees, Coaches, Volunteers, or Any Person associated
with this tournament, for any injuries or losses, during and/or in transit to or from this tournament.

Masks: As per Upper Perkiomen School District requirements: All attendees will be required to wear masks while within the school. Wrestlers must wear a mask at all times until they are on deck to wrestle. Coaches must remain masked. This will be a zero tolerance policy and failure to adhere to the policy will be grounds for removal from the event without refund.
